Cascade Aerospace Engineering uses a range of analytical tools that are commonly found throughout the engineering community, but obviously biased towards those used particularly within Aerospace.

Finite Element Analysis is carried out using the MSC.PATRAN pre and post processor together with MSC.NASTRAN as the solver. This is now supplemented by Altair Hyperworks. Output files are available in a wide range of formats to suit many other software packages. If you require a bespoke FEA package, then please contact us to discuss how this could be implemented.  

With the MSC token system in place numerous seats can be utilised, complex solutions or other MSC products used to determine the necessary solution. Altair Hyperworks allows access not only the enhanced meshing capabilities and efficiencies, but other solvers such as Optistrut and many third party packages that allow simulations in many other domains.

Much of the offload work in Europe is related in some way to Airbus and as such Cascade Aerospace Engineering has invested in the bespoke Airbus ISAMI structural analysis package.

All structural analysis is conducted in conjunction with other disciplines within the technical community and the most significant tool used for the development of the product, is the CAD package employed. Cascade Aerospace Engineering predominantly utilises ENOVIA DMU (CATIA) software for this purpose, but other data formats can be exchanged.

MathCad can be utilised when performing traditional calculations and writing detailed reports. This software has become less of an industry standard in recent times, but is still available should you need this type of package.

Although much of the Fatigue and Damage tolerance analysis carried out by CAE is conducted using bespoke customer software, if you don’t have such bespoke needs and a more generic code is appropriate to the task, NASGRO is available.

Cascade Aerospace Engineering has recently chosen to diversify and as such can now perform additional analyses, such as CFD or signature analysis.

Obviously, merely having the software package capability is only part of the solution, without experienced engineers familiar with the package and understanding the requirements of the task at hand a suitable solution will not be possible.  Cascade Aerospace Engineering has a wealth of experience in utilising these packages and how to obtain the appropriate results for the particular job being performed.

Microsoft products (such as SQL, Excel, Powerpivot and VBA) are used for many data handling or more general tasks.
